Air and Light Heal

"Air and light heal; they somehow get into those dark, musty places, like spiritual antibiotics."  --Anne Lamott

I love that sentence. I found it while reading her latest book, "Help, Thanks, Wow." It spoke to me because that's how I feel about getting outside and doing something active. When I get out and move, the air and light heal.

I took the above photo after arriving in Sedona, Az., last weekend with a few fun girlfriends. The air and light (even when it's cloudy and rains) in Sedona is like being on an IV drip of spiritual antibiotics.

I am running again.

To explain would require an extraordinarily long post and I'm taking The Boy to the zoo later. Plus for me to try to explain it would make me sound like a kook (even more than I already am).

It is this simple. I read a book recommended by a friend, called "Healing Back Pain: The Mind-Body Connection." I finished it on the plane before arriving to Sedona. Before I left on Sunday I had gone to two yoga classes, a tai chi class, I hiked the red rocks and I RAN. Sometimes "air" is the space to see a problem for what it is and "light" is the knowledge to fix it. If you've had any chronic pain or a nagging injury I highly recommend it.

I was at "Help," a few months ago. Last weekend I was at "Thanks." Now I'm at "Wow."

Also, Wow!, on the sunrise behind the snow-covered branches. Gorgeous!

What's your Wow today?

You're not a kook! I'm waiting for my return flight from Sedona back to the frozen tundra right now. I know exactly what you mean about the air and light, especially in Sedona. Glad you had such a great experience there!
