A day I knew would come sooner than later. She was 13 and 4 months, after all. But you always think there will be one more day. Just one more day.
I wrote a tribute to Zoe, our wonderful squirrel-hunting greybador retriever, back in 2008. I can't imagine we'll ever have another dog who will escort our children to the bus stop. She was special.

These losses are hard to stomach. So sorry...
We loved her. She was such a lucky girl to have been your first baby. Grieve my friend, you are allowed to grieve at such a profound loss. But know she is happy on the other side of the rainbow bridge.
I am so sorry for your loss. Pets are such incredible, loyal and loving family members. She will always be with you and your family in spirit and memory.
